Be Realistic, But Also Delusional
This is an excerpt that our creator, Sarah Faith, wrote for her personal newsletter on Substack. This piece is more of a United States-centric, collective overview.

In an interview I did in 2025 with Amelia Hruby, something she said struck me and stayed with me. She said that if you want to run a business without social media, you absolutely can, but you might need to adjust your expectations for the business.
What I have seen through teaching 2 cohorts of our marketing class, and have witnessed through social media, is that a lot of new business owners forget how much time it takes to be successful in business. They think they can scale and do group programs or have 6-figure months almost immediately. They get discouraged and resentful when that does not happen, not understanding that unless you have massive privilege, resources, are a genius at business and marketing, star power, or some other fluke/miracle/blessing from the Goddess, most businesses do not make money their first 2 years. Many businesses fold in the first 5 years; it is that difficult.
The truth is, I did 1-on-1 work and small in-person classes for 7 years before I began scaling my business. Person by person, reading by reading, class by class, post by post, email by email. Many folks lack that kind of stamina. (Thank you, Saturn/Mars conjunction!) And the other truth is, I am exceptional at what I do. I give the best readings of anyone I have ever encountered, my courses are super original and help people’s dreams come true, and I have an incredibly strong, natural business acumen. On top of that, my background as someone with over a decade of grueling, low-paid restaurant work makes me suited to dealing with the incredibly uncomfortable, stressful, and hard issues that running a business comes with. I am disciplined, hard-working, talented, smart, and also have years of experience in corporate, which trains you to keep due dates, deliver excellence, and plan your time well. I am also a skilled energy worker and witch who uses magic for her business! And even with all that, it took years for the business to generate six figures.
I see a lot of folks positioning the internet like some lucky slot machine and entrepreneurship as some easy way out of the matrix. Now, for some people, the internet can be a lucky slot machine; but I guarantee you those people worked their faces off—or at least applied strategy and played the game—to go viral. For some people, entrepreneurship is a golden ticket where they can quickly live a life of freedom while also helping the planet—it can happen!
But most people need to be realistic and have patience. And some kind of main gig for the first few years.
Now, I’m going to contradict myself a bit here: also, you do need a healthy dose of delusion to be an artist, a creative, a writer, or a business owner. When I say delusional, I just mean a strong love and belief, a passion and a calling, a spiritual sense that this is yours to try. Maybe you have no other options. Maybe it’s truly time to bet on yourself. Maybe you keep having dreams, visions, and nudges towards a whole different life. Honor it! Let your angels and God help you.
In this boring, violent, uninspired world, to be delusional is to have imagination. Delusional people are needed most right now. We see exciting futures that no one else can, that create new healing timelines. We create something out of nothing, over and over. We bring new energetic codes and pathways into the world, and make exciting possibilities real. The passion and motivation your delusion gives you is what will carry you through the moments of delusion and doubt.
TLDR; Be realistic. Don’t put unreasonable expectations on your art/creativity/business. If that means getting a job, keeping your art practice a hobby for now, or figuring out how to use your talents to make money in easier ways, do it. Do be open to miracles, know why you are doing what you are doing.
Suggestions for right now: Temper your expectations. Know why you are doing what it is you are doing. Use magic in your work, expect miracles while also being pragmatic.
