Use Strategy Plus Intuition Plus Systems
No more wasting time. You need systems and strategy. You need to trust your intuition. You need ways to track your progress and the ability to analyze data. You must teach yourself new skills like being able to write newsletters, photograph art, and basic SEO.
KNOW why you are doing something. Do not just “post” because you think you “should.” Are you doing it to get people on your newsletter? To experiment with what people are responding to? To share writing you are passionate about?
You need to create systems, whether that be with onboarding, collecting emails, scheduled follow ups to collectors, or a product launch template that really works.
Often, folks either use only intuition, or only strategy. You need to use both. Trust your intuition, and apply logical strategy. Then, systemize what works. This can also help you to create multiple income streams, which many of us are going to need, moving forward.
Suggestions for right now: Be clear on what you need to invest in to make your creativity/business more successful.
Networks Are Net Worths
Can you believe I’ve made it this far, and I haven’t spoken about collaboration, circular economies, and the new earth? I knowwwww. But it’s been here the entire time, humming in the background.
As someone who has gone very Hermit over the last 5 years for incredibly valid reasons, even I know that community and relationships are everything now. We’ve got to find folks with the same values who are living out those values. It is especially important to make friends in your neighborhood and globally.
Ecosystem hopping and cross-pollination are key. Visiting other people’s private memberships, teaching or talking at adjacent, or even unrelated spaces and institutions, collaborating with other artists/small business owners is a good move this year. Recently, I came across a sound artist who gives sound baths at a mattress store. This is the kind of pollination that will be rewarded.
The new earth paradigms of care, ecological stewardship, advanced consciousness, and non-hierarchical communities won’t create themselves. But you don’t have to do it all on your own. Figure out what your strengths are, and use them effectively. An example of this would be starting a podcast that lifts up ecologists/artists/creators/small business owners, etc. If you have a space, host monthly meet-ups, or make it available to other creatives or businesses. Host a free monthly online somatics hour with a griefworker you admire. 2026 is all about being the change you wish to see, but in the way only you can do.
Most businesses grow through in-person relationships, references, and recommendations. So get out there and meet people. Talk about what you do. Try to build an in-person community. That’s how many successful businesses begin and it is what they rely on.
Suggestions for right now: Court unexpected connections for you, brainstorm spaces to pitch yourself to, collaborate, start projects aimed at connecting with others for the sake of connection alone, and use the resources you have to create the world you want to see. Increase your surface area for luck and relational expansion by getting out into the world more.
