Resources

There are plenty of ways to engage with my work. You can purchase a course or workshop, join the Moon Studio Patreon or Substack, or buy Many Moons

There’s plenty of free resources as well: listen to the Moonbeaming podcast, sign up for the studio’s newsletter, check out the journal, or follow me on social media for plenty of free education.

If you are looking to work with me 1-on-1, my books are only open infrequently to my former clients, and once in a while, I open them to my Patreon supporters. The best way to find a practitioner is through specificity, discernment, word-of-mouth, and of course, referrals. So, we wanted to share some with you. If you are looking for a practitioner, below are some the Moon Studio currently endorses.

Practioner Recommendations

Queer Healers. A great resource for finding… queer healers! One of the organizers is Gala Mukomolova, my favorite horoscope writer. 😊

Susan Ateh. Susan is a breathwork facilitator, actor, and writer. The studio has been lucky enough to experience her expertise in our workshops.

Marissa Knox, Ph.D. Marissa is a teacher, researcher, writer, and beloved member of the Moon Studio community: many of you know Marissa when she facilitated Clear Channels.

This is not an exhaustive list! There are many more I love and recommend — some who have been on Moonbeaming and in Many Moons 🙂. Read on for even more advice on how to find a practitioner.

How to Find a Practioner

1.) Word of mouth. Ask your friends: have them tell you why they liked the reading and what they got out of it. Ask them if you think they'd like it.

2.) If a practitioner you love is booked, ask them for referrals. Every practitioner has folks they recommend or have worked with.

3.) Read their content, resources, and education. Most practitioners also have books, websites and blog posts, podcasts, and social media*. If their media resonates, then their services will probably resonate with you too.

4.) If someone's life seems to be chaotic, out of control and constantly filled with drama, or if they act like they are the ultimate authority with a steady stream of life advice and never admit flaws or vulnerability, maybe you don't want them up in your energy field helping your soul. Just sayin'.

(This is basic life advice in general, thank me later.)

5.) On that note, be specific and discerning about your needs. Maybe you need your reader to explicitly share that they are Trans, Non-binary, and Queer friendly—or maybe you need your practitioner to be Queer, Trans, or Non-Binary. Maybe you need your reader to clearly state that they are anti-racist—or be Black, Indigenous, Latinx, AAPI, or of your own particular background. Maybe it is important to you that they be trauma-informed. Be extra discerning of Q-Anon type content. Be clear on what would make you feel safe and welcome.

    • The best practitioners I know do not have a huge social media presence or following. They might not even have a social media account! This is where word-of-mouth comes in handy.
