Podcast Editor Role Job Description

Moon Studio is seeking a highly organized, very experienced, aesthetically-minded podcast editor for our weekly podcast, who can also create compelling short-form video content from interviews and podcast episodes.

This role is ideal for someone who loves storytelling, understands pacing and emotional resonance, has a strong eye for visual culture and internet-native content, and can help transform long-form conversations into an immersive, emotional experience, and create engaging clips that expand reach and audience growth.

As we continue to grow our audience, we’re looking for someone who can help us expand our video presence across platforms — including creating short-form social clips and editing full-length interviews for YouTube.

Responsibilities

• Edit full-length podcast interviews and conversations in our style and ethos
• Create engaging video clips for social to expand reach and audience growth
• Clean audio, balance levels, and prepare final podcast files for publishing
• Pull emotionally resonant, insightful, provocative, or shareable moments from conversations to create 1-2 high-quality clips per interview episode, up to 6 clips a month
• Deliver organized final assets on schedule, without fail
• Collaborate with our team on tone, visual identity, and content strategy

Ideal Candidate

You:

• Have experience editing podcasts and interview-based content (at least 3 years, 3 podcasts)
• Understand short-form storytelling and social media pacing
• Have excellent taste and a strong sense of timing, rhythm, and narrative
• Are familiar with contemporary design, culture, wellness, spirituality, creativity, or artistic brands
• Can make content feel elevated, emotionally intelligent, and culturally relevant — not generic
• Are proactive, communicative, and reliable with deadlines
• Know how to create clips that feel intentional and compelling

Deliverables

Typical monthly workflow:

• 4 long-from episode edits (20 -80 minute episodes)
• Between 1-2 full-length video episodes a month
• 2 clips per interview episode (Up to 6 clips per month total)

Bonus If You:

• Have motion graphics experience
• Understand YouTube optimization or audience retention
• Can suggest titles/hooks/captions for clips
• Have experience with creative, self-help spiritual, artistic, or founder-led brands

Pay is $150/episode for up to 80 minutes, $175/ 80-100 minutes (Most of our raw files are between 40-90 minutes, for more of a feel, check-out our podcast)
