Freelance Conceptual Copy Editor (Line Edit Style)
Rate: $35–$45/hour
Timeline:  2 projects between June 3rd - July 3rd (with potential for ongoing work)

Hey there!

We’re looking for a freelance conceptual copyeditor who has a great eye for detail and a strong sense of story and structure. The project is for upcoming journals and we’re looking for someone who can do a close, line-edit style pass — think polishing language, tightening ideas, making cuts when needed, and helping shape the overall flow.

This isn’t just about fixing grammar. We want someone who can make confident editing decisions, help clarify concepts, and elevate the writing while keeping the original voice intact.

What we’re looking for:

• Someone with line editing experience (especially in creative, essay, or editorial work)

• An eye for structure, tone, and clarity

• Confidence in cutting, reshaping, or tagging content

• Availability from all of June 3rd-July 3rd - This is for two projects. 

• A sample of your editing style — something you’ve done in Google Docs or Acrobat with comments is perfect

We’re always on the lookout for talented copyeditors, so there’s potential for future freelance work.
