What People Will Pay For in 2026
Here’s what came through around what people will pay for.
Insider knowledge/trainings and information, everyday ease, quality relational support/coaching, helpful synthesis, high-level expertise, original ideas, safety, deep joy/whimsy/play, fast results, one-of-a-kind/limited editions. Home goods and cozy comforts. Original clothing and items that support people in expressing their original style (following trends will subside for the next few years as folks go back to asserting their own expressions of style). Products and services that support one’s individualism, beauty, personal style, etc.: Face Yoga classes, beauty items that really work, styling services, and education, as well.
Handcrafted items, traditionally made items, bespoke and exclusive experiences, and access to quality relationships/community will still be desirable. Think: small group fitness classes, and sound baths in gardens that can only fit 20 people, with social time before and after.
Innovative and memorable services will do well, such as eco-cleaners who also conduct energetic and spiritual cleaning alongside their housecleaning, or landscapers specializing in native plants who also sell monthly maintenance packages.
Nervous system whisperers, somatic healers, and all things trauma resolution will continue to grow in popularity, especially if your methods garner felt results on a clear timeline. (People are over ambiguity and long periods spent healing, which I’ll go over in part 3.)
People will prioritize done for you over courses showing you how to do it yourself. What that means is if you are amazing at what you do and have receipts to back it up, you will be in demand.
Done with you is the next tier that folks will prioritize. Think: teaching copywriting to small groups, an SEO expert who sets up a website, then leaves the business with SOPS and monthly actions to take, the painter teaching a tiny cohort a particular technique.
There are now more small businesses than ever, and they need operations help, bookkeeping, organization, and admin support. If that is you, be loud and proud about the merits of your services.
In terms of service providers, people want a clear and specific outcome: for example, an astrologer who does elections and gives you the best ones for your business. A somatics facilitator who specializes in healing eldest daughters, or first-generation trauma wounds. Be very clear about what you do and how you do it. Building off of part 1, people will prioritize making money, learning either hobbies or skills to monetize, relational support, and trauma resolution.
Personalized, deep, and specific services will be in demand, such as one-on-one sessions, classes for a particular Zodiac sign, treatment for a specific injury, etc.
For creators/artists, this means adding personalization and exclusivity to your work, seasonal/bespoke drops, and limited editions: commissioned works, very specific and original art, editions that are clearly marked as limited, and so on.
Suggestions for right now: If this is you, think about clarifying and communicating about your work. If you’ve wanted to try anything I put forth, try it out this year. Release the limited edition. Codify your specific protocol.
Authenticity, authenticity, authenticity
Somewhere, in the morass of social media and the algorithm and trends and too much looky-loo-ing and burnout, a lot of folks lost their connection to their own authority and authenticity. The templates of the platforms we all use have added a layer of sameness to our creations. (Yes, even this one.)
Add AI, which isn’t going anywhere, to the mix, and there’s even less originality to enjoy. People are outsourcing their own thoughts, writing, and visual creativity to a robot, which is creating a huge, huge sea of “content.” (Excuse me while I energetically barf a bit in my mouth while I type out that word. I hate hate hate that everything, including ART, is now called content. I rebuke it!)
What you still possess, creator, is your authenticity and humanity. What the human creator has above anything else is their unique point of view, their human hand, their unique signature/style, and their authenticity. If you don’t know who you are anymore (another theme of the year!), that’s ok. The first quarter of the year is for figuring this out. If you are a business, it’s time to update your messaging and rebrand, which means clarifying your values, being clear about who you are, and who you are for. Businesses with embodied, proven values will rise above others. Creators with clear voices will stand out.
When the head of Meta is saying authenticity is key for creators now, pay attention.
For our purposes, authenticity is the best of what humanity has to offer: originality, innovation, and vulnerability. Spirituality, it is your essence, what only you can share and what only you can create.
Don’t be afraid to share your story, specifically the vulnerable bits. People need to hear about your failures, losses, shame, and the places where you feel wobbly to trust you. They will gravitate more towards a human hand, a human touch, over repulsive AI-generated imagery. Don’t be afraid to get weird. Have opinions! Know why you know what you know, what you are great at. Authenticity is a clear voice, a clear style, an unforgettable vibe. Cultivate your different interests, be bold, brave, and share what matters to you.
Do not be afraid to talk about your mistakes, what didn’t work out, what you regret, and what you might be embarrassed or ashamed of. People are hungry for real, raw, and resonant.
Suggestions for right now: If you’ve lost yourself, that’s ok. It’s normal to have identity shifts, different phases, and pivots. If that’s you, take the first 3 months of the year to regroup and create your new identity.
If you know who you are, lead proudly with your story. Share about the mistakes you’ve made, share your wonky handwriting, share behind-the-scenes photos or videos, and your original, edgy ideas. Share from an “in progress” space; you don’t need to have the perfect messaging, protocol, or formula to get started.
Don’t hoard your next-level ideas. Share the unhinged take, the hunch, the theory. If you’ve wanted to get into something specific and “weird,” do it!
